I setup a table the other day in my craft room and started working on some cards for a swap. I didn't get too far till I didn't like where they were heading and decided to walk away and think of some other design options. I hope to get back to it this weekend. My parents are coming for a visit this Sunday which means tomorrow will be cleaning and rearranging a bunch of boxes still not unpacked.

September Updates

The move went rather well. There were a few broken items, but nothing major. Of course after a few busy weeks with work I haven't had a chance to unpack too much, but I'm working on it little by little. Then we had the initial threat of Ike and were planning on being in Katy for the weekend when we found out Ike was actually heading that way, so we're staying home. The windows are boarded up and we have water and food to last us a few days to a week.


Some changes soon to come include a new blog. I've been working on a new design for my blog and I hope to roll it out to all of you soon. I also have a new email address: lisa@daintystamper.com and future emails will come from that email address. Enough about me, let's to get the goodies.


The Fall Supplement is out!! There is a slight increase in the prices of the new stamp sets and TAC issued a brief notice about this.


Please be aware that the supplement does contain a price increase on stamp sets. We have held off raising our prices as long as possible. In fact, this is only the second stamp set price increase in the eleven year history of The Angel Company™. Unfortunately, the continually increasing price of rubber has necessitated a price change in our stamp sets as well because The Angel Company™ refuses to sacrifice the quality, durability, and longevity of vulcanized rubber stamps for inferior materials that will not stand the test of time or create a clean image when stamped. By providing quality products and industry-competitive pricing within the pages of valuable creative resources such as the Fall Supplement and the Fall/Winter Inspiration Book, The Angel Company™ will continue to take steps to be an indispensable product resource for consumers.

Close Call

My goal for today was to leave work by 5 pm so I could rush home and see if my order had arrived. The leasing office closes at 6 pm and if I don't get out there in enough time, traffic slows down the bus ride on the HOV. I got caught up talking to a coworker and didn't get out till 5:30 pm. I was already talking myself into how I'd be ok if I didn't get my order till Friday, but I've been wanting to play. Imagine my surprise then when I found a key in my mailbox, it meant I had a package waiting!! Yep, my order i in and it was shipped USPS so even though the office was closed, the order is still in my hands. Whew, that was close!

I'll be working on the July Angelee kit over the weekend. I still haven't found my scanner software, but I'll try and get some pics taken to share come next week.

July Featured Kit

Let's try something new! I'm putting together monthly kits that will assist you in creating beautiful projects that won't take you forever to put together, but will look like you spent days on them. Some months will cater to the card makers, some to the scrapbookers and the rest will be projects for all of you. Each monthly kit will contain a combination of a stamp set, paper kit, cardstock, ribbon, embellishments and sometimes for projects I'll include an album or a tool to try. This gives each of you a chance to sample items from the catalog. The cost will range between $30 to $45, with the stamp set being optional. It's here!!

The new catalogue is here, right in front of me. After a long day - afternoon at the zoo, running errands, etc. - I finally was able to check my mail. I haven't had a chance to look through it yet, but I'm hoping to peruse it a few times and I'll have some more sneak peeks for you tomorrow.

July 4th Catalogue Party and Garage Sale

Hello everyone! Just wanted to let you know I'm having a little gathering. As you all know TAC's Fall/Winter 2008 Catalogue and Idea Books are on their way - hot off the press! I will be hosting a party complete with a drawing for free stamps (you do not need to be present to win) and a make & take. I will have some product on hand for those who like to see it in person before you purchase (some paper you just have to see to believe).

I'm also lightening my scrapbook load and have quite a bit of stuff that needs to go, so I will have a few tables set up with stuff for sale at really good prices. I have everything from retired TAC stamps to patterned paper, embellishments, you name it, it's probably in the stash. Not all garage sale stuff is TAC related, some of it was purchased at Maridawn's, Archivers, and other scrapbook stores.

Making a Little Progress

The last month or so I've had so many ideas swarming around in my head it's been unreal. I try and make notes so when I finally make the time to sit down I can get to work. The last two weeks I've started to make noticeable progress. I went through my stamps and pulled out everything I don't need to keep. I've set up my tables with my CD case of stamps on top of it so it's handy when I'm working. I'm hoping to be in a position to have a little open house party to sell some of my stamps and scrapbook supplies. I have so much I don't know what to do with it and truth be told, it's very overwhelming. I'll have more info on that for you soon, if you're interested. I'm thinking Friday, July 4th, sometime in the afternoon.

I pulled out my new printer last night. It only prints black and white, but that's all I really need to print sketches anyway. I'm hoping to have it set up this week and the scanner too so I can share my designs with you once I get to designing, which should be really soon. I really want to sit down and work on Father's Day cards and some belated Mother's Day cards too.

Other than those cards I'm still behind two swaps. I have Lizzy's purse to finish, Katie's letters to work on, and then miscellaneous stuff too. The inspiration is definitely coming back to me. I just need to sit down and get busy!

Spring Scrapbook Retreat

I'm anxiously awaiting the scrapbook retreat this weekend. My craft table and my dining table are covered in scraps, paper, embellishments, it's a mess that will be waiting for me when I get home Sunday. My mojo was on the fritz again and this past week has helped me be inspired yet again. I've been stalking blogs and searching galleries for ideas of what to work on next.



I have a planner that I need to put together. It was a class I was taking at Maridawn's before they closed and I wasn't able to go. I packed it. Then I snagged a sonia purse to make for Lizzy's birthday. I'm going to go with a black and pink princess theme. I'm not sure what I'll put in it, but I don't have the album and her birthday is next week.



I have some Mother's Day ideas flying around my head too that I need to get a jump on, and I have a few weeks for that.



My scanner and printer aren't set up yet, but I'll work on that next week so I can get you some photos of the make and take and my completed projects.

Swap Catch Up

I don't know what it is about the fall, but I tend to get so far behind. I think last year it started in the summer even. I do good the first few months of the year and then it all starts piling up on me. I spent the last two weeks getting caught up on swaps so I'm ready for 2008 now.

This was for a TAC stamp swap (anything goes). Paper - Mulberry Meadow V-831, stamp - Flutter By T-1014, Be T-2265. Ink - Eggplant VersaMagic S-963, Spring Pansy VersaMagic S-935. This was all "new" material for me. I hadn't used any of the paper or stamps yet, so this was fun for me to put together. I used a card sketch from Page Maps for this card.

This was for a Stampin' Angels swap, shabby chic theme. Paper - Mimi V-837, stamp - Rub a Dub Dub T-1232, ribbon - TAC Mimi B-211, ink - Chartreuse Palette Hybrid Ink TT-210, Burnt Umber Palette Hybrid Ink TT-218. This was by far one of my favorite techniques to try. I've always thought shabby chic was not my style. I thought "How could anyone put all that together and make it look so feminine and dainty?" Now I know! I'd really like to practice this style more with a few more stamp sets.

This card was for a Cut Out Card technique. Paper - Mulberry Meadow V-831, stamp - So Silly T-2288, ink - Eggplant & Spring Pansy VersaMagic. This was by far my favorite card of the bunch. I free handed cutting out parts of the rabbit to make his patch work. I used the swivle knife from my Coluzzle set. Then I cut a piece of patterned paper and adhered it to the back to make the patches and then cut out the blocks. I'd like to try this card again with the Toodle Loo V-834 paper and some of the other animals from the So Silly stamp set.

I'm currently in another swap for Valentine's Day cards without using pink or red. I was wanting to wait and use a new set from the 2008 catalogue, but all the girls in the swap are talking about how cute their cards are, so I'm going to pick another stamp set and give it a go. I should have that card to post soon.

Even if you can’t fit in craft time, you can at least brain storm some ideas for a RAK (random act of kindness) for someone. Keep a notebook handy to jot down ideas and inspiration as it comes to you. May you be blessed with prosperity, great health and many joyous memories this year.
