Recipes

I thought I'd post my lastest designs. The top three are from an A-Z recipe swap I did with some friends. Last year we did a cookie swap and this year was appetizers and finger foods. My letters this time were G, I and X. I made recipe cards for Garlic Feta Dip, Italian Torte, and Xtremely Easy Spinach Spread. The last recipe card is from the Texas Angel Gathering (TAG for short) where a bunch of us angels gathered for fun, fellowship and a ton of project making. Most of us participated in the recipe swap and it was open for anything so in light of Christmas being near I chose Jolly Gingerbread Men. I've always wanted to make gingerbread men and have yet to try to make them so I thought this might give me some inspiration to get into the kitchen and bake. Enjoy!

TAC Photo Gallery

I just found out Paper Wings has relocated. I reluctantly admit I have yet to start on my Christmas cards and today is December 6th. Talk about nervous. The pressure is on me! Usually sometime in mid summer I have this great idea for a Christmas card. I don't know what happened this year, but I'm clean out of ideas. I've been looking around for inspiration, but some things seem so involved and I'm not sure I have time to make very involved cards.

Note to self: Self, start much sooner on next year's Christmas cards.

I had started one version of a Christmas card and then broke my Big Shot. I recently purchased some Fiskar embossing dies and stumbled across an adorable card embossed with snowflakes. I thought that would be a good start, but I don't have a snowflake embossed die. Then I remembered I had ordered those from Fiskar so I opened them (it's only been a month or so, that's good!) and low and behold there was a snowflake one!! I immediately stuck it in my Big Shot, turned the handle and was bummed it barely made an indention in my cardstock so I put a shim in there and tried again and this time it came out perfect! I went back to my desk, stamped another image, went back to the Big Shot with two pieces of cardstock and the darn thing broke. What am I to do now? I feel like ditching the idea, but it was a really cute thought.

I just got Ginger Joy in the mail yesterday so I started playing with that image last night. I stamped it a few times, colored it different ways and thought, this is a lot of coloring for Christmas cards and I don't have much time... I need to decide what to do next. Hence my trek to Paper Wings and learning they're moving.

Anyway, long story still long... here's the new website: http://www.paperwingsonline.com/gallery/

Enjoy!

Stamp Camp Fun

I hosted a stamp camp Saturday and all attendees made 9 projects. I originally had wanted 10 projects, but the Christmas gift bag I had in mind, didn't work out as planned. I counted the Christmas wall hanging as two since it included three coasters.

Here are the projects we made.

For fall and Halloween we made ornaments. For the Halloween ornament we used
Simply Spooky V-926 paper. For the fall ornament, we used orange cardstock stamped with brown ink with the turkey and leaf from the For All Seasons T-2708 stamp set. Paper was crimped with a Crimper D-98 after it was stamped and cut.

Treat Bags were made using coffee filters stamped with brown and orange inks with the same stamp set from above and
Give Thanks T-1139 and tied with brown and orange Scrapper's Floss.

A Give Thanks card stamped with
Give Thanks T-1139 stamp set. The leaf came from the Autumn Smiles T-2604 stamp set.

A mini purse for Black Friday equipped with chocolate to alleviate shopping stress. The purse was a template from Paper Crafts magazine and the paper was
Genevieve V-852. We added a paper flower, some ribbon and bling in the middle of the flower.

A criss-cross Christmas Card using
Merry Wishes V-829 from the Soar With it Collection. The santa is from Christmas Fun T-1253 and Merry Christmas is from the Holiday Magic T-2706 set. You can't tell from the photo, but santa's beard and hat are covered with white Fun Flock A-253.

A Christmas wall hanging made from coasters using
Vintage Holiday R-2501 paper and Blessed With T-2699 stamp set. We added bling and some inking on the sides with red and green.

A file folder Christmas wish list using
Kamalaht V-830 paper. The file folder A-85328 was cut from the Coluzzle template.

The inside was stamped with Christmas Checklist T-2810 stamps and then using brads we attached a few sheets to the inside of the file folder. The stamps don't look right in the photo, but they stamped fine on the actual sheet of paper.

A "2008 You" goals tag book with 6 tabs, January through June on one side and July through December on the other side. The tags were cut from black and white paper using the
Big Shot E-500 tag diecut. "2008" was stamped with numbers from the Christmas Checklist above. The circle and You came from the Circle Sampler T-2691 stamp set and the stars are from Grand Birthday R-130, all stamped in white ink and tied together with black grosgrain ribbon loose enough for someone to move tags easily to write on them. The months were stamped with stamps from the Calendar T-2202 stamp set and the lines from Punctuation T-2720.

Cheers T-2528 New Year's card using Cha Cha V-832 paper and cardstock B-310.

Cards to Share

I'm hoping to get in here more often and keep things current here, especially with so much going on the next few months. I'm behind on birthday cards so I got caught up on two. One's for my nephew and one's for my cousin.

Aden's dino-mite birthday card using Hemingway paper, V-836 and tag and Kid Praises stamp set, T-2686.

Giselle's grand birthday card using Grand Birthday stamp set, R-130 and Mimi paper, V-837.

I have a stamp camp scheduled for Saturday, October 20th. I'll have 10 projects to post soon. Be on the lookout!

A Good Day!

Yesterday was a very good day. I took advantage of Labor Day and my good friends helped me get my scrap room organzied. I also took the time to separate the retired stamps from my collection. Which left me in a better position to pack for yesterday. Michelle and I got together to crop and I had a few swaps to make. Two are technique swaps and one is a swap for a retreat in September.

July's technique was spotlight. I used the hellothere stamp set, T-2628 with paper from Mia's Cottage R-2503.

August's techinque was waxed paper resist. I used littlefriends stamp set T-2332 T-2332 with paper from the Brighten my Day V-901 designer collection.

My retreat swap card was made with oopsiedaisies T-2651 and Lilly Anna paper V-833.

Today my goal is to work on a few make and take ideas for the retreat. I have my work cut out for me.

Hope you're having a great weekend!
